I need to buy the part of an M&P that holds the adjustable grips in place. It locks in behind the mag well and a pin goes up securing the grip adjusting piece. I don't know what it's call so I can't search to find one.

What it's called would be good, where to buy one would be better.

It's called the Frame Assembly Takedown Tool. You can get them from S&W, eBay, Amazon, MidwayUSA. They are model specific, the fullsize 1.0 FATT supposedly will not work with a 2.0 grip (palmswell) but I put a 2.0 grip on a 1.0 and found that the 1.0 tool actually had a tighter fit. Here's the one for a 2.0 from S&W: https://store.smith-wesson.com/black-m2-0-frame-tool $4 plus $4 shipping. Here's the MidwestUSA 1.0, $4.50 and $5 shipping. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1004512664
The .45s use a totally different tool.
Basically the best price would be from S&W shipped, you can call them, tell them what your setup is and they will take your CC and ship one out.

Actually here's the link to the video that S&W sent me about 10 times. Watch out - geniuses at work!
When you go to the S&W website and look at 2.0 Palmswells then it says "If you don't have M2.0™ frame tool you will need to order separately for proper fit." They suck you in with the two geniuses and then when you look at them at S&W it says you need to change the tool which is BS.
