M&P 15PC

I mounted up a S&W 6-24x Mil-dot reticle scope on my M&P 15PC and took the rifle out to the range for the first time.

The first 3 shots were from 25 yards to see if the scope was pointed in the same direction as the rifle. Ooooh I like this, about an inch to right and right on top of each other!

From 100 yards I didn't get any one hole groups, but with Federal American Eagle 55gr MCBT I don't think a dime sized group is too bad. I think I'll keep it.

Suuweeeeeet! Any particular plans for this rig other than shooting impressive groups at the range?

How do you like the stock?

ETA:Nice pics BTW.

Not really, maybe some prairie dogs sometime, but mostly just working up some handloads that will shoot one hole groups.

The stock is a lot easier on my cheek than the collapsible one on my M&P15, though for the price of the rifle S&W could have put something a little more trick on it.

KO
I been doing a little more testing now that I have a Burris 6.5 -20X50mm scope mounted on the M&P15PC.

My starting loads with Sierra 69gr and 77gr MatchKing both averaged about 1.125" for a ten shot group at 100yds. The 50gr Hornady SX 10 shot group was 1.625". I'll probably have to wait until spring to do any fine tuning on the handloads now that winter is here.

This is a 20 shot 100yd group with Federal American Eagle.

I like the target barrel setup of the PC but I'm a lefty. I notice there isn't a shell deflector on this model. How come? Would I be catching brass between the eyes with the gun?

I've noticed that all my experience with similar guns. They eject the ammo to ~2 o'clock and the dirtier the gun gets it will approach 3 and 4 o'clock.

But I've never shot one w/o a deflector.

I'm also a lefty

Just my .02
