I tried out an M&P 40 at a local indoor range yesterday. It was a range rental gun so it gets a lot of use, but I don't know the round count. The magazine kept releasing while shooting causing a failure to feed malfunction. At first, I though I might have my thumb on the release, but I shot it more and I did not have any part of my hands on the mag button when these malfunctions were happening.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? I'm speculating that if the mag catch is plastic, the steel magazines are wearing the locking surfaces of the plastic mag catch.
