can anyone tell me the difference between the internal lock and the 10lb. trigger pull and which one is prefferable. Also, I would like to know why. Also, with the 10lb trigger pull is it only the first shot or is it all 10 rds? thanks!!!

The internal lock is independent of trigger pull. You are talking about 2 different mechanisms.

All trigger pulls will be the same using the same pistol.

thanks for your reply, i was mislead. Smoeone had mentioned that one of the trigger pulls was 10lb. and the other was a 6.5 lb. pull.

The 10lb trigger pull is the law in MA, that's what you'll find on all new pistols being sold there. M&P's sold everywhere else are supposed to come with a 6.5lb pull from the factory. So that's the difference between the two triggers.

The internal lock is a "security" feature that prevents the gun from firing.
