Okay, I posted a thread over in the Technical section with no feedback so I'm going to somewhat post the same thread but in a different context.

I currently own both the MP9 and MP40 full-size and bought a NIB MP45 this weekend. I broke it down to clean and lube and experienced difficulty getting the slide back on. The take down lever and the sear disconnect were down but the slide would only travel a certain distance until it would stop. I didn't force it as to avoid breaking something. The only way I can get my pistol back together is by depresseing the striker plunger and pushing the striker forward. Once I compete this additional step the slide will attach. What's up here? I haven't had to do this with my other full-size pistols.

I have yet to fire the pistol so don't know if something else is afoot. Any ideas?

The only time I have ever had this problem was when the take down lever had moved back up. The sear disconnect position does not seem to matter when I reassemble mine.

Yea, sometimes the take down lever can slide back upwards... depending on how you're breaking it down, it can slide back to a 40 to 45* degree angle away from the slide.
