I know very little about semi-auto pistols but I bought a 9c yesterday. The instructions (which for some reason I actually read) for removing the slide call for using the frame tool to first "lower the sear deactivation lever into the magazine well."
Took me a bit to comprehend the instruction but I did figure it out and then removed the slide.
My questions are:
1. Does the step to "lower the sear deactivation lever" apply only to a 9c which has no mag disconnect safety?
2. What happens if one should forget to "lower the sear deactivation lever" before taking the slide off?
3. What happens if one should forget to "verify [that] the sear deactivation lever" is in the lowered position (and it somehow got raised) before putting the slide back on?
OK, so I'm a nyoob with semi-autos...but I was rather pleased with myself for figuring out why there were no instructions for raising the sear deactivation lever after putting the slide back on.
