Can anyone compare the M&P 9c and 40c with respect to controllability (2nd shot sighting, etc.) I have an M&P 40 full size that I love, but I have heard that the compact has a lot more "kick." The compact seems like a good CCW candidate. Thanks

I have not shot any of the M&P 9mm in any size. I do have the M&P .40c which I traded in my Glock G27 for. The M&P has less felt recoil than the G27 did. It is a fun gun to shoot. I like it A LOT!!

Having both, there is a noticble difference in recoil if you were switching back and forth. If you choosing between the two, get the one that "you" have the time and commitment to master.

I agree 110% IMO my 9c has a significant change of recoil for the better I got the 9c for my ccw and wanted a little less recoil in case..

My 9mm compact back to the hospital....

I have a fullsized MP 40 and a MP 9mm compact. My 40 has been perfect through about 2500 rounds and has very manageable recoil. My 9mm compact with about 1500 rounds through it is on it's way back to S & W for the 2nd time for failure to feed problems. I'm a little disappointed with my 9mm compact because of the feed problems but love shooting it since it is very accurate with very little recoil. I hope the problems will be fixed this time because I really like this little pistol and S & W customer service has been great.

I have read very little of problems with any 40 caliber MP either fullsized or compact.
