Am at TDI for a 3 day 1800+ round handgun course. Instead of a 1911 I brought my 2 M&P 9mms. Only shot 400 rounds today as we spent the first half of the day in the classroom. Only had 1 failure in the 400 rounds, a FTE with S&B ammo. That makes 9 FTEs in the first 1700 rounds, this is the first with something other than WWB. John Brenner and David Bowie are instructing using M&Ps. I was a great pleasure talking face to face with David. Very personable and free sharing his knowledge. It was also a great pleasure and honor training with him and the other fine instructors at TDI. I shot David's personal M&P .45, I have got to get one of these worked over by him, not to mention my 2 9mms.

Today's update. Shot 600 rounds. Had 2 more FTEs, funny thing was 1 of them happened while we were practicing malfunction drills. I had a lot of one on one instruction time with David Bowie today which was great, including during this drill. When he looked at my M&P he thought the extractor tension was OK to marginally OK. There was a lot of crap behind my extractor that wasn't helping. When I told him that was the 9th or 10th FTE he thought (and I definitely agree) that is way too many. Had an absolute blast at day 2 and tomorrow will be even more fun, will be doing shoot houses.

Shot another 542 rounds todaty. What a class this was!!!!!!!!!!!! Going through a live fire house is the best, talk about draining. OH yea, I know, how did the pistol do. I gave the extractor hook a good cleaning last night after day 2. I went through all 542 rounds today with 0 pistol related problems. I had a few brain farts but the pistol ran like a champ, and believe me, we ran our pistols hard today. There was actually quite a few M&Ps and they made a good showing for themselves.
