I don't think the compact version is a rumor at all.
It is eventual evolution process of the M&P. S&W will go after the growing popular XD and Glock for more market share.
The question will be when? I think after all the full size version is introduced. The .357 sig is the next one on the list.

I agree, its only time, USP has a mini, XD, and so on.. I hope they do their R&D...
Word is that the compact is due around August.
Size is equiv to the Glock compacts (G-19, G-23, G-32).

I was hoping for a more compact compact. I have no money right now for it, but I do have patience, so i guess it all works out in the end.
Yep I was hoping for a sub-compact in the M&P
Actually, it needs to be thinner (especially for a 9mm).
Glock's full, compact, and subs are all the same width.
