This is the rating for a M&P in a updated firearm bluebook. meaning this is what you can expect to get for a used M&P

Why would you want to sell one? If you want an investment, buy a custom pistol, put it in your safe, hold on to it for a bunch of years, then sell it for what you paid for it (in inflated dollars). If you want a shooter, buy it, shoot it a lot and don't worry about money, consider what it's worth.

But that's just my humble opinion...

Don't buy a gun expecting to sell it. Had to explain this to a friend. Especially in the days of internet competition, you will lose tons of money on your gun.

On the bright side according to the book I could sell my M&Ps for more than I bought them even at 98%

Great...I could sell mine for more than I paid for it...but then I didn't buy it to sell it! It's value to me is more than your book value anyway because I value my life with it.........

Here are the glock 19/23 numbers:

MSRP $641

100%- $495

98%- $425

95%- $345

XD 4in versions:

MSRP- $498

100%- $430

98%- $380

95%- $340

90%- $295

80%- $265

70%- $235

60%- $200

The only problem I see is there are not enough being sold out there yet to get accurate numbers. In years to come the numbers will come up, and I think you will see them drop the last few 80-60% like they did to the glocks as the finish just will not wear down like a blued gun does.

OK enough of that junk. You do not buy a plastic gun as investment. They are bought to shoot the crap out of period.

If you want Hierloom guns buy old steel guns not new plastic guns.

Thanks Dan, I was wondering exactly what you noted. How in the heck could a M&P even reach the 60% rating at this point in time. Why I choose to feed the trolls, I'll never know.

Jester is a American he should understand that a TRUTHFUL post shouldnt be deleted

I could understand if he was from Cuba where you can be thrown in jail if someone says something truthful and then they get thrown in a jail.

I say his add on for mags isnt worth 17 dollars to myself dont get mad and delete the post

Once again, this is private property. If Jester doesnt like what you have to say, he can ask you (or force you) to leave.

From what i've seen, Jester runs this place pretty openly. He asked you nicely to drop a topic that you've brought up in a couple different places here on the forum. One of those places, you were butting into someone's for sale ad. If the guy wants to name a price (regardless of what it is), that's his right. If it's too high, it's not for you to say, it's for the market to decide. If someone will pay a "too high" price, that's not your place to say.

Anyways, if I were you, i'd get over it. If you dont like the value on the pistol, dont buy it.

Compare the costs of the M&P to its competitors and you will see it is reasonably priced.

If someone has a used gun for sale, they can decide the price...whatever it is. It is not anyone's position to **** on their thread and bash their price. Caveat emptor, they should research the gun and the prices.

And imo Jester has been very lenient on this forum in regards to moderation, but that is off topic.......
