Simple question. Can I use the mag from a Shield 9 in my Shield 40? I found a 50 round drum for a 9 but haven't been able to find the equivalent for my 40. I'd like a drum for my 40 and was hoping that I could buy the one for the 9 and use it. I've found a lot of conflicting answers and don't want to drop $100 on the drum if it isn't going to work. Any input is appreciated.

Who makes a drum mag for the Shield9? If you plan on loading it with 40's, I doubt the feed lips would properly accommodate them. You could get a conversion barrel and just use 9mm. I'm just curious as to why someone would even want a drum mag for a pistol though. Defeats the purpose of reload training. That's just my opinion though. I'm sure your reason suits you. That's all that matters.

I don’t believe that a 9mm mag will feed the larger diameter .40 S&W cartridge.
