Just picked me up a shield. Wow, what a great little shooter! I don't know what took me sooooo long!? I used to always carry my 45c, but it will take a back-seat now.The shield makes it so I will ALWAYS be carrying! How bout you folks? Has it revolutionized how you carry?
Anyway, I love it. The trigger is better then most the other M&P's I have had or used (pitiful), but still not up to the glock standard. Not sure why Smith and Wesson haven't pulled there heads out of their butts and fixed this. I guess Apex tactical won't complain, lol!
Who wants to buy a virtually new 45c with extra mags?
Congrats and welcome from Albuquerque! Although I'm pretty happy with my stock trigger. 6.25 lbs (measured) is fine for a CCW IMHO, though I've heard they are all over the map. Others have reported gritty and upwards of 7. I would probably go APEX too if that were mine. Never fired a Glock so i can't compare. I'd keep the .45 for home defense though, since you already have it.
No I still have another 45 I like better, so my M&P is up for sale. Looks like I will use my Shield for everyday carry, and my other 45 for home protection (in addition to my Mossberg 590a1), and for my woods gun (converted to 460 rowland) and for carry when I have my maxpedition shoulder bag with me, which is much of the time

I'm guessing that S&W doesn't want to put 5-10 minutes of additional labor into deburring and polishing the striker block hole or improving the shape and finish of the sear. They want you to pay extra for those features (Performance Center). And I'm also guessing that as a lawyer driven (rather than engineering driven or marketing driven) company they don't want to put great triggers in pistols that do not have manual safeties. Remember that this is a company that refuses to sell parts because they no longer trust their customers not to hurt themselves.
the Shield is a great carry weapon...great choice for CCW
