The firearms manufacturers have nothing to do with Simmunitions. They're a separate entity and so far as I know, the process uses a special barrel supplied by Simmunitions in your otherwise unaltered piece.
Thanks. Was just wondering if anyone had heard any rumors or read anything. We have a multijurisdictional range program. Of course, every other agency has Glocks. We use the glock sim gun for our training. I don't like the fact I have train my officers with glocks in sim situations. (If you have trained with sims, you know how real the scenarios can get.) But, I have to make due with what we have. Our glock guys have expalined to me how glock makes their training guns. (The blue sim gun and the red training gun.) Conversion kits are ok, but I was hoping smith would come out with a training gun.
According to the Regional Manager/Instructor I spoke to today, the M&P Simunition conversion kit should be available during the first quarter of next year. It's been designed and tested and is going through pre-production finals at this time.
