I just found out that the M&P357 has been delayed yet again until January...

This makes me very sad.

That's the way it goes. I can't think of a pistol that was released when expected.

The delay allows Smith to have a new product hit the market every 6 months. I want the 357 too. & the 9 pro.
The NM State Police will be switching from the Glock 31 to the M&P357.
what sucks is that it was suppose to be out BEFORE the M&P45
how hard is it to take the m&p 40 and put a 357 barrel in it. It amazes me that it can take these rocket scientists that they have working for them to take so long to figure out something that is so simple.
thats what I'm screamin'.... I use to have a KelTec P40 that I bought a 357 barrel for. You just swap the barrel and you got a 357sig. Took the same clip as the 40 just like the M&P357 will.
I called Smith&Wesson and asked them directly about the release date and they said sometime this month or August. GOT MY FINGERS CROSSED.
Maybe S&W is so busy producing the M&P models now on the market, they don't have the time to tool up for the new barrel.

Out of curiosity where did you hear this?
I'm curious also.
Glad they came out with the MP.45 before the MP.357 not only because I have one but there seems to be less of a market for the .357. S&W appeares to understand the market.
Well, i was sold on M&P45, until i felt the trigger. Unless they revise the mushy trigger, I'm gonna stick with 1911's as far as 45acp goes. SO I HOPE TO MIGHTY LOAD that 357 is gonna have trigger much like that on my 9
I have an M&P 357SIG on order with a factory Certificate. I was told probably August. Soon as they release it I will let you know. I was told they are out for show and tell right now but not full production.

Regards,
If you have the same factory certificate I had, I hope you get your pistol faster than I did. It took S&W three months to get it to me.

Mine was sent in this week. I will post when I get it but I told them I was willing to wait until the supposed August release of the 357SIG. I have 3-5 gallon pails of brass ready to be reloaded

If I have to I can drive to S&W and pick it up. It's only 2 hours away

I have a Burwell modified MP9 and though the trigger feels great I don't believe it compares with a well done trigger job on a 1911. Differant platform, differant feel. Send a MP45 to Dan and he will make the trigger feel better than your 9.
I sent an email to S&W asking about the release date. Instead of answering my email, they are now sending me spam mail..... THANKS ALOT S&W

Most Rocket Scientists work on the projects the suits tell them to. I expect they already know how to build them anyway.

One of the TV gun shows a few days back indicated S&W is installing a number of very high dollar machining centers to increase production capacity in order to meet existing product demands and enable expansion of the product line. Be patient and good things just might happen.

Enjoy
