Hi guys..This is directly mainly to those who have or have had both the C-TAC and the M-TAC...I have a C-TAC and love the holster but leaves me uncomfortable alot.I was thinking about ordering the M-TAC and wanted to know if there is really that much of a difference? how do they compare in thickness, comfort, retention, draw etc????? Any pics would also be appreciated...thanks!

OH BTW

I owned a C-tac for one week. Not comfortable and was the worse IWB I have ever owned. If you are serious about carring I would not recomend it. I also found that it caused the gun to print really bad because it would not pull in tight to my body.

Everyone is different so take my opinion for it is worth.

I hardly get any printing at all with my C-tac.For me it is the best IWB that I have tried so far,but is a bit uncomfortable sometimes...I am hopeing that the leather will make a great holster even better.

The MTAC is thicker but you can get more cant with the CTAC. Yes the MTAC is more comfortable by most accounts but I find my CTACs comfortable. Pens, what part of the CTAC causes discomfort?
The sweat guard I think mostly...I trimmed off the excess length on the c clips that wasnt getting used and that was better...I thought of zipping off the sweatguard..but I'm skeert

This might seem like a strange question but its one I've learned I have to ask - is the pistol in the holster when you find the sweat guard digging into you?

When I got my MTAC, I haven't used the CTAC since. The MTAC is a lot more comfortable, and I don't find it any less concealable. The one thing the CTAC has over the MTAC is retention, with that reassuring "click" that you hear.

Why do I have this eerie feeling you are going to embarass me here,,but my answer is... it digs more when the gun is not in the holster...there are times when I cannot carry due to laws but I keep the holster on...go ahead give it to me

I'm not going to embarrass you but that's why I had to ask. People complain about discomfort with the CTAC from time to time and there are different things you can do to remedy it. But if you're talking about when the holster is empty, I'm not surprised you're finding it uncomfortable and maybe the MTAC would be a better option.

Its not ONLY when I wear it empty. Its just weird , I can wear it one day and feels good, then other day I can't wait to get it off...I love the holster in general but wondered if with the leather on the back side and on the sweatguard that maybe it would be a bit more comfortable and conform to the body and still have a awesome holster!

There's no doubt the MTAC is a good holster but I personally prefer the CTAC as it gives me more carry position options and I much prefer the draw from kydex.

To get the most out of my CTACs (comfort and concealment) I switched the tabs, applied Moleskin to the back of the sweat guard and the T-nuts, and around the edges of the front leather tab. Now it gives me everything that I need.

Do you do much changing of the position on yours? Do you have any pics of the mods you have done? Plus don't get me wrong I won't give up my C-Tac by any means but this one would seem to make a good addition to my holster collection..

Not once I find the position I like. The CTAC just gives me more positions to work with.

I do it a little differently now, but here's an old one:

The tab switch is explained here: http://californiaccw.org/posts/list/793.page#9736

You can choose whichever holster you want. We all have different needs and expectations from our carry gear. If I went with a MTAC it would be a downgrade. YMMV. Since you already have the CTAC I'm just letting you know what you can do with it.

I appreciate all the input given, and like you said"everyones needs are different" and what may be comfortable to some might not be to others, but now there are many more choices and suggestions to make a good thing better! one other thing...on your pic it looks like you have shortened your sweat guard???
Here is a review I did for my MTAC. I also compared it to the CTAC that I used to own. I prefer the MTAC.

Is the M-TAC thicker?Seems like you can get more cant out of it than the C-Tac too
MTAC is thicker, but marginally. I can get more cant out of the CTAC if you do Chooch's tab mods, but I found it more uncomfortable. I did not adjust my MTAC at all. I worked perfect out of the box for me.
