What they said, absolutly no effect on the trigger pull feel or anything else what-so-ever at all. I think it is the best designed mag safety ever even if it were to break or malfunction the gun will still work it would just be capable of firing without a mag.

Great news, guys -- thanks. Getting closer to finally getting a M&P, and while I'd prefer one w/out the mag disconnect, I note that the models with them are cheaper @ Bud's than the models without...don't know it's worth paying a premium for to get one w/out, unless it would have affected the trigger pull. Keep hoping Bud's will get a model that has neither the disconnect *and* the lock, but I've haven't seen that yet.

Bud's does sell those, no IL/no MS, and at the $369 price. They just happen to be sold out of them. I just ordered an M&P40 with the mag safety/no lock, cause I didn't want to wait. If I wasn't so indecisive, I could have had the no mag safety one last week...waited too long! Oh well, I'm still happy!

Hm, okay, well I'll just hold off then and see if they roll in; that combo in 9mm is really what I'm after, and I don't mind waiting a bit longer. If it looks like it could be a long while, at least now I know having the disconnect safety doesn't screw up the trigger pull, so I could live w/ it.

The Mage safety can be easily removed.

And you can have the gun now, instead of waiting.

They do have the model with NO LOCK but with mag safety and it's in stock now!!

Sorry, I wasn't too clear on that -- "and" probably should have been "or"...am primarily looking for the model that doesn't have either one. So as mentioned above, I'll just wait a bit and see if one gets into Bud's inventory sometime soon.

Yeah, I've seen the instructions, but I'm not overly confident in my gunsmithing abilities, though I know Mr. Burwell could take of it for me were I to send it to him for a trigger job, etc. Plus I'd prefer to have it stock (w/out safeties/locks) from the factory for a number of reasons.

Having said that, it's good to know the options are there in the event that it has to come to that.
