I also found that an AR-15 bolt catch spring works very well at keeping pressure on the sear disconnector. Didn't even have to trim it...tightish fit but works great!

I bought a compression spring at the hardware store cut it with dremmel tool and put it together

couldn't the lever portion of the mag disconnect just be dremmeled off? kind of like ground flat, thus retaining the OEM spring?

Never mind--I looked at it closely...



I used a spring cut to size from a Bic pen (!)



Worked great! ID of Bic spring is fine, OD is a little large, but fits fine into the block...



I'll try it at an IDPA match this Sun evening and post results.
