Eh, Makers is alright, a little too sweet and syrupy for my tastes. I much prefer Knob Creek, Bookers, Basil Hayden, Eagle Rare, Russel's Reserve...the list goes on. Have any of you tried the MM "46"? Haven't tried that yet, kinda curious about it.

I went on a Scotch kick a few months ago... I had to stop b/c I was drinking it to fast / spending to much money. My favorite by far was Balvenie Single Barrel 15y. I tried all spectrums and I still have some Laphroaig, its good with a bold cigar.

Now I guess I have to get into Wiskey/Bourbon

For those who know what I am talking about there has been a running debate on which bourbon taste's the best. I thought I could stress the fact that Makers Mark is a better Bourbon than Knob Creek... In fact I am willing to put YukonGlocker's Knob Creek and my Markers Mark in a virtual taste test. Mmmmmmmmmm, yup much smoother and great taste too.

I am a bartender in Vegas, I sold 8 times more Makers than Knob Creek, that is my 3 cents.

there is an actual shortage of makers mark the business grew 11% more than projected so they have proofed down makers mark due to demand and it's a trend you will see across much of the Bourbon Business. the recommendation of Dave Pickerell (Creator of Whistle Pig Rye, former Master Distiller at Maker's Mark) is look to Craft distilling for the next wave of higher proof spirits.

Makers Mark is excellent.......been drinking it for over 30 years. Another excellent whiskey is Wild Turkey Rare Breed. If you've not tried it yet, it worth a taste test!

enjoying a fine whiskey, if you happen to have a fine cuban in the other hand thats
not so bad either. thank you for putting this poll together.

I enjoy a nice 140 proof apple shine on the weekends but other than that, us Wyoming folk love our whiskey

I'm a Macallan guy. That being said, I do enjoy Maker's on occasion.

Try their DoubleWood. It's wonderful as well.

For whisky I'd take Pendleton over either. They were better before they became main stream. They had to change distilleries to keep up with demand. It's Canadian whisky imported in casks and bottled in Oregon.

I actually drink Snake River Stampede which is 8 year aged whisky and as far as I can tell is the original distributer for Pendleton as it was 8 year before the change. Plus Snake River is less money, and it's still bottled in Oregon about 45 mins from my house.

I prefer the smoothness of these but to answer your question Makers Mark out of the 2. I haven't tried Woodford Reserve but my buddy from Kentucky claims that's what all the locals drink.
