Hello all, my name is Ken and I live in Howell Michigan. Im a newbie to semi auto pistols. Well a newbie to all pistols. I have a Super Red Hawk 44 mag with 7.5" barrel. Ive only shot that gun probably 400 rounds since I bought it some time back in the late 80's, early 90's Im guessing. I bought it for hunting, and never really used it much. Took a nice doe with it one year. Im now looking to get a gun to carry concealed. I was sold on the XD40 Sub, but then I read a few write ups on the MP40. Im still torn, but its looking good for the MP40c. I shot both XD and MP at the range, both service model 40 cals. That day of shooting is what swayed me toward the MP. However my local store doesnt have an MP in at this time, so Im waiting patiently.

I hope to be around here for awhile.

Welcome. Super Red Hawks are bad ass to shoot! Havent had the time to go out and get my deer yet. Hope you land your MP40c soon.

CMDBass, Thanks for the offer, and I would enjoy meeting up with you some time. However, my new MP40c will not be here till Wednesday. Im buying it from Randys in Bad Axe. He is going to bring it down with him, when he comes to the whitetails banquet my dad is hosting. I cant wait to shoot this gun. Also note, I have only shot about 450 rounds out of pistols my entire life, so Im not that great. I wont have any extra mags, and Im not sure my gun is suitable for the type of shooting your talking about? If this gun is appropriate, give me a few weeks and Ill gladly head out with ya.
