finaly took my compact to the range first couple rounds i shoot low left but after a couple

mags it shot were i put them at 25ft the first fifty rounds no problems then no mater if i used

the compact mag or a 15 round mag from my full size m&p 40 every time i pulled the trigger

the mag would drop i shot another 100 rounds same thing. i first i thought i was hiting the mag relase.but when i got home i put a empty mag in and i could pull it out with out pressing the

mag relase.so i field striped it and looked at the metal part of the mag catch and you can see

the corner of it is missing. i thank i read some were that there was a problem with the 40 droping there mags.my full size hasent had the problem .any one else had this probem and if so what

did smith do to fix it and since they fixed it have you had the problem any more.i know this was a little lon winded. also will smith send a call tag from ups to send it back or do i need to send it through a ffl thanks for any info

Performed a Test and Evaluation for my department today on the 40C and ran into the same results with 15 round magazine drop during live fire exercise, no issues to note with 10 round mags, will be contacting S&W monday, need answers from Smith about this problem before I even recommend this pistol as a secondary carry gun for my department. Accuracy was overall very nice from the 25 yard line with one intentional failure to feed during a limp wristing exercise. Hope they have a good answer and fix for this problem.

LE Rep said they have been having a issue with the Mag catch and will be sending a updated version asap, said all new guns are already taken care of but T&E guns go out all the time so they did not have time to inspect them.
