So I went to a Gun show and bought my first pistol. I got the S&W M&P 40. Very excited to try it out. I joined the NRA and went to NRA building to use their range and try it out. However, the ventilation system was out (darn), so looks like I'll be waiting until tomorrow. At least I went through their test and got my card, so I wont have to do it tomorrow. I've been reading the different postings, this website is awesome. I've already learned alot. Any suggestions on where I should buy a holster, and what kind of holster I should get? I got a gun safety course from a friend of mine who is an SF officer. I'll be taking an actual course in two weeks so I can get my concealed permit here in VA. So I have 3 weeks to buy a holster, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I actually went with 1stTimer to get his M&P at the Chantilly Show. Will be going back tomorrow to snag myself something. However, I still find it ironic that I helped him choose the M&P pistol when I do not even own one!
Hope they do not take away my "Glock License"!

Welcome to the site. I would recommend the C.T.A.C., that is what I have for my fullsized and it is very comfortable and I like how secure it holds my gun in place. There are a whole lot of great holsters out there, just search this site.
