Well surprise surprise, who could have possibly guessed this?

"We have to have badges to get on site here. Guns are not permitted on site. And we have random checks of automobiles," said Johnson Space Center director Michael Coats. "Right now, we're trying to understand why this happened, how this happened."

Another "Gun Free Zone" where only the bad guys have guns. What blind spot of the mind causes one to think that a "Gun Free" zone has one iota more effect on criminals than a "Robbery Free Zone"?

Stores would be So much safer if they had "Robbery Free Zone" signs on the front doors. It would completely eliminate that pesky robbery problem, wouldn't it?

Because of the shooting at VT, the news stations here in Arizona have been talking a lot about guns and could that happen here? I sent the following E-mail to Governor Napolitano...have yet to receive a reply...and not holding my breath!

Honorable Janet Napolitano,

In light of this week's terrible event, the

question is "Could a similar act of violence happen in Arizona Schools?"

There has been much discussion, but my answer is yes. The reason is that

lawful citizens with concealed carry permits are forbidden to carry their

weapons on any campus in the State of Arizona. To be exact the law

forbids any weapons within 1000 feet of a school. Students, faculty, and

those working at any school in Arizona are denied their right of

self-defense. I think a change in the law is required to correct this

situation and I hope you will take it into consideration.
