Just received a FIST #8 for my 9c and am pretty impressed with it. I like the minimalist approach to the holster and it sits comfortably just at the front of the hip (works well for the basic fireplug body type). Construction and quality is very good. The one drawback is that they only have the full size M&P listed but that didn't affect me since this is essentially a slide.

FIST has a 3-5 week turn-around on their order form, but this one took about 7 weeks. I can't complain though, they emailed me to let me know they were running behind. They responded to any inquiries the same day.

$44.95 for the holster and they have a lot of options you can add.

Also, I had Dan Burwell put one of his rear sights on for me. 8 day turnaround from S. Florida and Dan responded the same day to my emails. It's nice to see that kind of customer care.

The sights made a big difference to these 55 year old eyes. I was having problems with the Novac rear in conjunction with the front sight...it looked like a softball dancing between two volleyballs. With Dan's sight, the front sight snaps into focus.

FIST makes good stuff. Had a IWB/OWB combo for a 1911. Liked it a lot. The leather will maintain it's shape/form. That hardmolding don't ya know. The guy who runs the shop can be a sort of grump, but that's okay because he's a straight shooter who knows his stuff. All that said, I just ordered a Comp-Tac paddle today - and I don't do paddles....

Just curious, it doesn't look like the holster has any clearance for the front site.

Does it snag when you draw ?

It does look nice though

Nope. It's hard to tell from the photo, but there's a pretty large sight-rail molded into the leather. It's still getting broken in, but I was surprised how well it holds the pistol. There's also a dimple molded into the back that the front of the trigger guard snaps into, helping with retention.

TAILROTOR, How does the Fist #8 fit as far as being tight against your body?Does it conceal good? And this retention dimple on the back, does the gun fit in side tight? thank you for your help!

It fits pretty tight for me right at the front of my hip, PENS. It doesn't print when I wear an untucked, casual shirt. Since it's getting pretty hot down here in S. FL, I added a piece of scrap leather and a couple of clips so I can wear it IWB with a t-shirt. Not pretty, but it works pretty well.

As for the retention dimple, the pistol is a very tight fit. The dimple sits right behind the front of the trigger guard.

If you're thinking about a FIST holster, you might want to look at their return policy. It's not a liberal as some other custom holster makers.

By the way, everybody that says to pitch your regular belt and get a gun belt is right. Huge difference.

Good thinking on making it a IWB with the clips..Who cares what it looks like,if it works more power to ya,plus you won't see it inside your pants anyway. I use the 5.11 tactical belts, they seem really sturdy with a holster attached....I think I'm gonna order one of the holsters..Bad thing is I have no patients and would want it NOW

Took about 7 weeks, PENS. Also, take a look at their options...I kind of wish I had gotten the body protector for an extra $8.
