Hello:

I'll be researching some info on the M&P 9. Trying to downsize from my 1911 until I can refine my shooting skills a bit, although the M&P 45 does look tempting.

Looking forward to all the expertise that is available here.

WELCOME to the site. Choosing a MP is a good choice. Dont get rid of your 1911's, but a MP9 is a great plinker and defense pistol. Or you can get a MP40, all have a mild recoil. But the MP45 ooohhh ya, I would get it but Im saving up for a MP40c. Then I plan on collecting 3rd gen Smiths.

Welcome from a fellow Kentuckian, and I agree that you should keep the 1911 and get the M&P. There's room for both. I haven't had my MP9 for long, but I like it a lot. I can do as much damage with it as the 1911, and they're both fun to shoot.
