I purchased a new M&P 40 in 2005. The striker safety bore was rough and caused a 10+ lb trigger pull which felt like it had sand in it. Gritty. I finally got that cleaned up and the trigger pull was still too hard. Tried Apex parts and I could get a 2.5 lb, 3.5 lb, 7.0 lb or 8.0 lb. trigger. Replaced the sear block and with some Apex parts now have a 4.5-5.0 lb trigger and the gun shoots great with 600 rds. through it.

I purchased a Shield 9 in 2017 and the slide lock lever wouldn't go into detent. I used a Swiss file to finish the end of the slide stop lever the manufacturing machine failed to remove. The magazine followers were sticking in the magazines and not going to the top. Emery cloth and some polishing corrected this problem. The Shield had a 7.5 to 8.0 lb. trigger when new and I installed an Apex kit in it. Now has a 5.0 to 5.5 Lb trigger. I really like both of these firearms and believe an Apex kit is a must do.
