Good feedback, this is what we're looking for.

The white text on grey is so-so contrasty. For the guy who uses a CRT in a dark room, it works great. For the guy with a bundled cheap 17inch LCD without the best contrast ratio ina lit room? Not so much. Make thet guy someone in his 50s with the aging eyesight of a 50 year old?
Im in a bright office on an LCD, but I'll see what we can do to replicate your situation and make it better.
Even worse. I know the gradient at the top of each text "frame" is driving my eyes buggy when trying to read, and I'm usually not bothered by light text ona dark background.
Are you seeing the gradient as smooth or choppy? If it looks choppy, you might have your display set to thousands of colors (med or high, 16 or 24bit), rather than millions (highest (32bit)) in your start > control > display settings? Let me know.
Also the blue text for already read/visited threads is HORRIBLE on the grey background. VERY unreadable.
It is a bit dark, I'll bring that up a bit.
Also, from looking at the edit window text, you have light grey text on a about 75% grey background. rather than actual white. The edit window with white text on an 80% background is much more readable. (still gonna cause eyestrain for a certain percentage of the population).
Again, It is a bit dark, I'll bring that up a bit to see if that helps.
As for the header and all the nav-bars etc, those I actually like. I just think some compromise is going to have to occur on where the eyeballs meet the text in any serious way.
I have a ton of people who love it, some who hate it and a few on the fence. I think offering a Dark or a Light Skin might be the solution. But for now this feedback is great, keep it coming so we can make the dark skin as readable as possible.
