New thoughts on "Weapon Shield"

Just an FWI for anyone interested in gun care products. I recieved a free sample of "Weapon Shield" from George Fennell over at Steel Shield Technologies a while back and have been playing with it. http://www.steelshieldtech.com/products.htm I really like this product. Works every bit as advertised, smells good, and a little goes a long way. Check it out. I'm using it on several of my guns for cleaning and general lubrication and I'm going to order a bigger bottle from George. I don't think he was obligated to send me a free sample as the deadline for it that I saw had passed but I thought I would ask anyway. Got an immediate email response from George and a couple days later, my Weapon Shield! I told him in my email that if the product lived up to expectations, I would brag about it to everyone I could, so I am. Really good stuff. I'm thinking about trying some of their automotive products because I'm also very anal about my car! Anywho, love my M&P 40 fullsize and enjoy this forum immensely. Thanks to all for everything I've learned here.

Yes good stuff.

Does not run. It stays where you put it.
I even tried it in padlocks,
got 3 of them on my trailer and they are always freezing up from rain, dang locks never were this smooth when they were new.

I keep a bunch on hand since it is such good stuff.

So that's a big +1,000,000

Great CLP, I am starting on my second bottle with a third bottle on stand-by. You can purchase the 4oz. bottles from the M-P Store.
+ 1 on everything said above! i've used my free sample, and have had great results! it's smells good enough to drink!
Has anyone found that it is superior to other popular cleaners or lubricants, or is this just another good product?

Yukon, weren't you going to conduct some sort of scientific comparison test?
Smells so good I use it as a cologne!
I believe it is the best oil I have tried. It stays put, smooths everything up and makes clean-up a snap.

I got the 16oz bottle and then disposed with all the other oils in my cleaning box.

Went through the safe and gave all my guns their annnual cleaning. Now everything has the "Shield"
I have had better success with it than breakfree, hoppes, remoil, and so on, even the 10-8 lube.

I run it on all of my 1911's, and I shoot cast. They get really dirty fast, and hard to clean. I made the switch, and I can't say its a breeze to clean them, but it has gotten easier.

I knew this would come up!

Yes, I still plan on a test. I'm trying to get something legitimate worked out.
Good feedback. I will use my sample on my new Kel-tec P3AT from day one and report back in a couple weeks. 8)

Well I think it's been working better then the tetra products I'm able to get locally. This stuff was taking more dirt off just about everything even after I had cleaned with the tetra stuff. Plus the tetra seems to dissappear if you leave you guns sit for awhile (didn't know oil could evaporate so quickly) but this stuff doesn't. If you use an excess amount of it you will see what looks like an attempted get-away but if you take the firearm apart you will notice that there is still a good amount on the rails ... enough to feel if you touch it. Even if you try to wipe it off with your finger it seems that all's you do is get a nicely lubed finger but there's still a good amount on the rails.

So o answer you question I would have to say that yes, it is better then some products out there. I've switched over to using weapon shield and have so far used it on every firearm I own. Whatever is left of the tetra lube is next to my press.

I agree, it's very good stuff. I used up my free sample and ordered a large bottle from the MP store. I use it when cleaning my guns and I keep a small rag lightly soaked with Weapon Shield to wipe down my guns after I fondle them. Thank's again George for the introductory sample. 8)
Until I see some testing showing it to be better or equal Eezox for rust proofing I'll stick with that. Even though i have to spray Eezox outside while holding my breath. I only use it every couple of months though. Otherwise I use MP Pro 7.
I used up my sample then ordered 2-4oz bottles from M&P store. I love this stuff. I can clean my guns withtou opening windows. For lubricative properties, it does best on a clean gun. I detail stripped my M&P, scrubbed the frame, and cleaned as much of the old lube off the metal parts. I applied WP and let it sit a day. I pushed a dry patch through the bore and every last bit of fouling came out. I'm not exagerating in that I've never had an easier time cleaning my bore. I had been using RiG grease on the rails, but after cleaning, the WP went on. I took it out to the range after letting t sit a week. After 100 rounds, I checked the rails. They looked dry, but were still slick, and the slide still moved smoothly. This stuff does a phenomenal job getting into the pores.

I did try it on my Mosins. It does a great job on the bore and reciever, but seems a bit thin for lubing the bolt. No hints of rust yet and it's the only thing I have on there. I love it in all my bores and certainly as a pistol lube.

Thanks George!!!
