So I was on Gunbroker yesterday and saw a 4566 that looks to be in reasonably good shape. It has a little wear on the grips, and some on the slide, (I can fix that) and generally looks pretty good. I put in a bid on it, and won! When I get home I'll start the ball rolling to get it shipped to my local FFL, should have it by the end of next week. I got it for $385 with one mag (no big deal for me, I can get more of those...). I had a 4566 once before and (foolishly) sold it, and have been looking for another ever since. I hope this one performs as well as the other one I had. Once I have it home and cleaned up, I'll get some pictures out here.



Oh, and I'm still planning on my M&P9 and M&P9 compact, too. Gotta love S&W!

I have several S&W 3rd Gen .45ACP pistols, including a 4566. I'm very happy with all of them, they are great pistols.



I don't yet have a M&P. I am seriously interested in a .45ACP version though. I should be getting a .40S&W version as a duty weapon in the next few months.

Very nice 4566. You did get a great deal on it. It looks NIB. My daily carry is a 4563TSW (lightweight version of your gun) and I have carried and used a 4566 for years. Enjoy.

I have an all black melonite 4566 and a PC 4566 CQB. Absolutely love both of them! Pretty heavy for a carry gun but with a decent holster and belt it can be done. Leather (good) is hard to find for them but holsters for the Beretta 92 and some Sigs fit like a glove. The 4566 will also fit any other 4.25 S&W semis leather. Enjoy!
