I traded my Ruger P89 for a M&P Shield .40 yesterday. Still haven't had a chance to even run any rounds through it. The serial # starts out with HLS - I'm noticing that there may be some problems out there with older models. Is this something I should be watching out for specifically? Thanks, in advance, for any help or suggestions.

I've shot most of my life, but not consistently. I'm signed up for a CC Class the first of April, and plan to use the Shield as my main carry gun. I also have an old Dan Wesson .357. It's a little big to carry, although I do have the snub barrel for it too.

Looking forward to learning more on here!

I've got one of those older models, a M&P40, I'm still waiting for a problem to appear, maybe by 40-50,000 rounds something will happen.

Welcome to the Neighborhood! :gathering: I've got two Shields in .40. Love them both and they are in the carry rotation! Wait until you get to the range! :smiling:
