Just received email from S&W:

RE: is any version of the M&P compact shipping yet? thanks...

"Not, yet, but should be in about 1 month"

How do post pictures if you don't have a web site?

call smith, I might when I can.

I have the M&P 40 and really love it; super accurate and great feel; but I got tired of waiting on the compact, so I bought a Sigma 9VE in the meantime; doesn't like my reloads, only factory. I modified my reloads by increasing the powder charge by 2 tenths of a grain in the Sigma and it helped alot, but still have FTE with about 2-3 out of 16 rounds. I since have increased the charge by another tenth of a grain, but haven't tried them yet. I am going to sell the Sigma (again, at a loss I'm sure). Since I bought the Sigma, I just bought the XD 40 SC and have yet to shoot it. This gun thing is a sickness, I keep buying and selling and losing $. It has got to stop. But, at least now I have something I can justify having a concealed carry permit for (XD SC).

SW 1911 45 ACP Stainless

CZ 75B SA 9mm

S&W Sigma 9VE

Browning HP Practical 9mm

Springfield XD 9mm 4" with night sights and XML weapon light

Beretta CX4 Storm 9mm carbine with Bushnell Red Dot

S&W M&P 40

Springfield XD 40 Sub-Compact (have already ordered the Pearce grip extension)

Ruger Mini-14 223 Stainless Ranch Rifle, with 3x9x40 scope & bipod

The new issue of Shooting Illustrated has a full page S&W ad in it showing a picture of the new compact model.

{hijack} how's your experience with the XD SC? I was seriously considering one, but kept reading about their full size pistols were developing cracks in the receivers. {end hijack}

I was hoping to fire (for the first time) my new XD 40 Subcompact at the range today, but I worked at the church putting up new fence around the heavy duty new plaground equipment for the kids latchkey program and got home late. Have weiner roast at 5, so will have to put off the range until tomorrow afternoon. But, I do have a 4" 9MM XD and have had a 5" in 40 and a 4" XD in 40 and never had any issue with cracks in any of them.
