Does anyone know of any outdoor ranges in Las Vegas, NV? If so, where and how much is it to use? I've been going to American Shooters Supply since they are the cheapest for range rentals. They charge $7.50 for the day but it's an indoor range.

There is Desert Sportsman over on the west side of town.

But you need to be a member, or have a member get you in.

There is also an outdoor range in Boulder City (forgot the name).

Most people just head out into the desert past the sloan exit from the 1-15 heading South out of Vegas.

depends on the cop but you just need to be 1 mile from the road. upin reno i can go behind my parents housing complex anytime and sherrif probably won't care since I'm shooting at a mountian with the houses to my back

Check with the local sherrif (get names and badge numbers) or police and ask them about shooting. South end of vegas would probably be best, government land in the north would worry me about shooting behind my dad's house but I'd do it. License says I'm not local so I might be able to say I didn't know and with the right cop I might be able to grab my things and leave.

shooting in desert

Couldnt really find any posts on how to shoot legally in a desert. I am about to head out to vegas next week with a couple friends who are all very very gun cautious. Is there any exits that we can take to go shoot and the above posts says we have to be one mile away from the hwy. Do we also have to set up an area where we are shooting, such as setting a perimeter? I have a 4, my friends has a 93fs. Any one experienced in doing this? what do u guys shoot?

I hear the outdoor range in Boulder City is open to the public but I haven't been there. Maybe you should try the location Fly'n Brian posted off of I-15. I been shooting at Deserts Sportsman for the IDPA & Steel Challenge competitions. Besides that, I been going to American Shooters Supply (indoor range).
