I know I want something in .308 nothing against a .223 but I just like a little bigger umph in what I am shooting plus if I ever get the urge I could probably use it for hunting up north mn or wi. I am nowhere near purchasing I am window shopping right now and I think I have found my winner.

just my personal experience, but I felt the exact same way when I was shopping.

I have an AR10-A4 to show for it, and it sits in the safe most of the time compared to it's .223 sibling.

The .308 actions are longer and beefier, and the barrels are heavier. THe .308 ars are just long, cumbersome, and balance poorly IMO. The standard AR design is light, handy, and well balanced if you build it right.

I've been considering selling my AR for a while to buy a .308 bolt action rifle and a 6.5 grendel kit to build up a 6.5 Grendel upper.
