Ok, so I have been reading about the 'pencil' test.



I thought I would try it. Sounds interesting, and maybe I would learn something.



I rescue my M+P 9c from it's hiding place, just as I'm going to bed.



Uh....... no pencils to be found. None. Not even in the kids book bags.



Crud.



I DID find a stick pen though. Would it really make a difference?

First test.... just a wiggle. Hmmm..... the cap was on, and that was

maybe preventing the pen base from resting on the breech face.



Take the cap off, repeat the test.



CRUD. CRAP. OH SHAZBAT.



How am I going to explain to my wife why there is a pen sticking out of the ceiling

over the bed??

So lemme get this straight, you shot a pen into your ceiling with your gun? LOL Is that even possible?

The idea behind the 'pencil test' is to check the firing pin strike. A strong strike

against the pencil will bounce it out of the barrel. (NO ammunition involved!)



My 'test' using a pen ended up with the pen being thrown out of the barrel

and sticking point first into the ceiling.



I guess the firing pin strike is strong enough.
