S&W full size guns are now shipping with 3 mags and a holster. I haven't seen one yet and can't find a photo on the S&W factory website. Does anyone have a picture of the furnished holster that comes with this package? Is it a belt holster, paddle holster, or what? How is the quality of the holster? Any info greatly appreciated.

It is a Bladetech belt holster. Very good uality kydex!! I think I saw pics at S&W's website

This is a special kit that is available. It is not standard with all full size M&P's I don't believe. If you search the forums here, there have been pictures of the kit. The holster is made by Blade Tech I believe. Here is a link to the holster on the Blade Tech site.

Not exactly. Some of Blade-tech's products are high end kydex, some are low end IM plastic. This one (Revolution) is the latter.

I have the carry kit.

While the holster is very very decent. It does not match my custom Blade-tech Kydex.



Mine for the S&W does not click when the gun is inserted.

Just received our shipment of M&P's for my agency, while I was logging in the guns and checking serial numbers from the box to the gun I noticed one case had a whole different interior to include 1 Holster and a double mag pouch and 2 mags instead of the 3 that we were suppose to get. The holster is heavy kydex and used with a standard 1" belt it also has the M&P logo on it. I contacted S&W LE sales and asked about the holster and Mag pouch and they advised this was a Carry Kit that somehow got mixed in even though the product number on the case was the same. So I asked what about the other 13 guns they are missing the Holsters also

and asked S&W for more holsters for my guys and I got a good chuckle from the rep. I had to try,lol anyway they said I could keep it as gift for myself and they would send out the 3rd mag also. If you want pics i can post some just let me know.

If it's the Revolution holster, which is very likely, it is not kydex and the belt loop doesn't come any smaller than 1.25". I don't mean to nit-pick, but I don't want people to get the wrong idea.

Thanks for the info and the link to the photos. Not as nice as I had hoped, but serviceable. I was told by 2 dealers at the last gunshow that all S&W full size guns would be shipping with the 3 mags, mag holders, and holster in the future. According to a S&W rep, this is an attempt to compete with the Springfield XD and Glock pistols. Apparently the XD's are selling very well at low prices so S&W had to compete to stay in the game. I don't own an XD and really don't like the looks of the gun, so don't have any interest in it, but this is just what the "big boys" at the gun show were saying. Thanks again for all the info. This is a great forum.

FWIW,

I just got to see and fondle my new M&P9 today. My dealer ordered it from his distributor yesterday and it was shipped overnight. The serial # is MPE5xxx. The gun has two magazines and no holster. I don't have any idea how long the distributor had it in stock.



And by the way, I am happy and will be much happier in ten days when I can pick it up.

My Wife has the M&P 9 with the carry kit. The holster is workeable as a range holster as are the mag holders. I later bought a Blade Tech belt SRB holster and the stiffer kydex did make it feel a bit less cheap and I'm sure it was more durabel but it was not a very good holster (for me) and it rode too far away from my body for decent concealment.
