I went and bought a punch for the pins because I didn't think the plastic end on the take down tool would handle a beating from a hammer. My rear pin was tight enough to peel some metal back on the pin on the way out. Is the take down tool strong enough to smack it with a hammer a few times? Seems like I'd be hard to hit the flat too. I can see myself hitting the raised edge and busting it all to pieces.
Anyone know if I can hit the takedown tool with a hammer? I'd reather use it over the pin punch I bought (which is a little small). The one I bought mushroomed the end of the pin slightly. I'm also going to smooth the pin next time it comes out so maybe it won't be so tight.
