Looks like the fire pin hole on my new used M&P9 is chamfered on the bottom of the hole (closest to the mag)

anyone know if this is normal? seems very "machined" It leaves a very noticeable mark on the primers of everything i put threw it. Dangerous? are my primers close to rupturing?

Thanks

It was done to address long-term reliability issues when shooting hot (+p and particularly +p+) ammunition in the 9mm.

It's just the design. My Stoeger (Beretta) Cougar makes in an interesting bullseye shape on the primer. And of course Glocks have the rectangular look. I'm sure they all function about the same.
