I do believe that federal law requires you to be resident within the state you're buying the handgun in. And since Alaska doesn't have adjacent states, I don't think you can buy any firearm unless you're a resident.
Purchasing a handgun in Alaska
I lived in Alaska for 4 years but I can't remember if you have to be a resident of Alaska to purchase a handgun. Does anyone know?
