This isn't really a competition question, but I figure that the people with the highest round counts hang out here.

I know that to keep a 1911 running for my lifetime I need a few sets of springs, a few mags, a couple of extractors, a firing pin stop, and a slide stop.

What do I need to keep an M&P running for the long haul (say 15,000 rounds)?

What parts have you seen fail?

Thanks - Josh M.

Did you mean 150,000 or did you really just mean fifteen thousand rounds?

If the latter, then odds are you will never need to do anything more than clean and lubricate the M&P-45. Other preventative maintenance (springs, pins, etc.) are a good idea if you want it to last a long time, but 15,000 rounds is nothing.

I've been shooting my M&P-9 for a month and it's got almost half that through it.
