I noticed on one of the $399 dollar M&P's that it states "no lock" What does he mean by no lock?

There is a provision for a key lock on the MP, you can get it with or without the lock, I think most are getting it without the lock, mine doesn't have one. If you get the MP without the lock the hole in the frame is plugged.

No lock guns from Bud's have no locks, but they have magazine safeties I believe. If you take the SKU number listed for that gun, you can cross reference it with the numbers listed here or S&Ws site to see which model it is.

Are you in California? If you are looking at the model they say is California Approved, with no internal lock and no magazine disconnect, as of Dec 1st this pistol is actually no longer on the California approved list. Only M&Ps with magazine disconnect safeties may be sold to Californians.
