About 250 rounds through the new 9mm compact so far. Time to clean it a bit.
I was surprised at how little crud had accumulated, especially considering
some of that shooting was with dirty Red Dot powder.
On the trigger.... from the factory it was acceptable but I thought it
creepy and scratchy, especially compared to my Combat Commander
which has had a lot of work over the decades.
Before trying anything special, like stripping it down and polishing, I tried
the lazy mans path first. I simply lubed the trigger guts with Friction Block
light oil. The difference was immediate and notable. Much smoother
and more managable as felt in dry fire (range time will tell for sure).
Of course this won't make it the best it can be, but it's remarkable what
a drop of special lube in the right spot will do.
