My newest addition, a .40 compact, has a guide rod with a hex nut end. Are all the guide rods now that way including the full size?



How do take it apart? Just crank it counter-clockwise? Mine is not budging, and I don't want to break anything - yet.

Mine also has the nut at the end. But I have no intention of taking it apart unless it is broke or worn out.
