Revolution holster

The Revolution is an okay holster. It holds the gun well and is fast to draw from. It does have the same problem as all of the other kydex belt holsters that I have used. It is not as comfortable as a good leather holster, and it doesn't seem to conceal as well as a good leather holster. In case you haven't noticed, I'm a big fan of dead cow for carry rigs. YMMV.

It's not kydex. It's injection molded plastic.

I had one. I don't like them. The fit is just ok.

No, the compact won't fit. (Unless they have changed them.) The mag release is pushed by the holster when you try to put the compact in it.

Kydex, plastic, whatever the case. I still prefer dead bovine. Fits and feels better IMO.

How does it compare to Fobus or Uncle Mike's?

But I could cut a notch in it or dremel it couldn't I?

I don't know about Fobus. I have read too many bad reports on Fobus to try one.

I think the Uncle Mike's is better; but I have yet to actually try an UM for the M&P.

I would think so. If I remember correctly, the muzzle hitting the end of the holster is what stops the gun from going further into the holster. Since the muzzle on the compact is shorter, the gun would go into the holster too far; and this is what created the problem of pushing the mag release.

Fobus is definitely garbage...that's why I'm asking how the Revolution compares. :wink:

I think the UM is better than the Rev.; but as I said, I haven't seen the UM for the M&P in person. So I'm not sure how that one will fit either.



Maybe I'm just used to custom molded kydex gear, but the Rev. doesn't impress me at all. I will be able to form a better opinion on this once I see the UM in person. Where will the holster be mounted?

Ditto. That's why I'm asking, trying to pick the lesser of 2 evils. All my kydex gear is Comp-Tac, but I'm trying to compromise some and save a little money here.

I will be able to form a better opinion on this once I see the UM in person. Where will the holster be mounted?

On the bed. My wife's fullsize on her side and my compact (once it arrives) on my side.

I have a revolution witht he paddle attachment on it for my fullsize and carry my compact in it also. like they say it is ok as in you get what you pay for.

How is the fit with the compact and what did you do to protect against the holster hitting the mag release?

Have not had a problem with it hitting the mag release and i have carried the compact in it several times as the mother ship has my fullsize for the mag drop prob. It fits just fine as far as fit goes all. If you look hard you can see the diffrence in length. But it holds it fine when you turn it upside down. I wonder if the problem with the mag release hitting was with a earlier revision? As i got mine a few weeks ago.

I had the mag pop out today. But it was only after i pushed it further down in the holster. Normally i just put it in til i haere the faint click and leave it. Today i pushed it down a bit and the mag popped out. So it will if you push it to far down. I hope that helps.

I just got in stock the stingray belt holsters and UHC for the compact, will be up on the store tomorrow night.

choochboost, you might also check out the Galco Matrix holster. It is fairly inexpensive also.

I need a belt holster for that mount.

Went to a gun show today and checked out the Uncle Mike's G21 holster that is supposed to fit the M&P. Sure you could make it fit in the same way you could fit a tractor into my one car garage, but its certainly not a match made in heaven. So I guess I'll be going with the Revolution for my cheap bedside holster.
