This gun came with Crimson Trace laser grips but I really didn't like how they felt during extended shooting. I wanted something a little more grippy and a little more traditional, so I went with some black paper micarta "Operator" grips from VZGrips.

I love the way they feel and love the way the gun looks now. I'll be adding an ambi safety lever and some Heinie Straight Eight night sights this next week.

Probably the most common question I'm asked.

But... the answer remains No. I'm going to hang on to it in case I ever decide to re-sell the gun or just want to bolt them on for training purposes. I've also thought about putting them on my Kimber Pro CDP II that gets used as a carry piece far more often than the SW1911 does, but I'm not sure I could live with the "sin" of putting S&W branded products on a Kimber.
