I agree, I don't see what you gain with a 357 sig round vs what you would already have with a 40 caliber cartridge.
It would be interesting to shoot the .357 sig round out of this M&P however. Some pistols just seem to soak up the recoil better than others. My experience with a Glock is that it has a ton of muzzle flip out of that polymer frame. I didn't care for it at all. Out of a Sig P229, the .357 cartridge was no problem at all.
I do like the sound the .357 cartridge makes, especially indoors. Too cool.
