$465.00 + tax. Dashed home and headed out to the range for an hour (200 rounds) of flawless, accurate, comfortable shooting right out of the box!

On a funny/weird note: I asked one dealer if he had any 40c's. He looked at me and said;

HIM: "You're not going to buy one of *THOSE* are you?"

ME: "Why yes, yes I am... I have 2 other M&P's and they've been perfect"

HIM: "Pffft! I was at a S&W demonstration for the M&P and they wouldn't let us use any of the guns past 1500 rounds because they were falling apart"

ME: "Really?"

HIM: "Yeah... all of them needed to be completely rebuilt after 1500 rounds"

ME (walking away with eyes rolling and a skeptical grin): "Welp I guess that means I'll be buying new M&P's when they start falling apart"

I think I'll probably be selling my 9c in the next few days. I'm fast becoming a .40 fan (snob). I rarely shoot anything else anymore. My 9's sit in the safe as I pass them up for the .40's in my collection.

That's what's so great about a lfetime warranty. Smith and Wesson can pick up the bill for repairs.
1500 rounds and falling apart?? Hmmm... Mine has about 3000 rounds through it now and I used it for qualifying yesterday on the range.. It worked like a champ..

Yeah, as far as the S&W service, when mine does fail.. I will just ship it off and let them fix it for free.

I can't wait to get my M&P40c for my birthday... I looked at one yesterday during one of our breaks from class... It is so sweet...

I knew the guy was full of crap almost as soon as he opened his mouth. I looked around on his table and he didn't have a single S&W of any kind for sale. Obviously, he was trying to bad-mouth M&P's to steer me toward his table full of Glocks, H&K, and Springfields.
What's wrong with the HK's ??? Let's not forget, they all copied GLOCK but the worst offenders are Springfield and S&W ... S&W being the worst of them all - pretty soon we'll be comparing them to Taurus... LOL ...

I defineately agree with you on that one. Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud owner of an M&P 40c, but I still remember the day when Glock first hit the scene in the 80s and S&W bashed the heck out of the "Ugly Plastic gun". It makes me laugh today when I see that one of S&Ws most popular guns is the polymer based M&P.

Take care and God Bless,

Ronin
EXACTLY - Being a retired LEO, I remember that day as if it were yesterday because our Dept. was looking to dump the old S&W 38's ... for the new 9mm Glock 17's ...
Just an FYI: HK was the first to market a polymer handgun, not glock. Many copied the glock action but it can't be claimed they were the first to market with polymers...

Who did you get it from? I was there looking and didn't see one at a decent price.

The guy from Wadesboro (Villiage Pawn I think?) had them for $465.00. I bought mine at the show in the Merch Mart. He was also at the Metrolina Expo show this past weekend and had them for the same price.
