I am looking for a shoulder holster for the full size M&P (.40, if it matters) and, with the few options available, was considering trying a shoulder holster for the Glock 20/21. I know the M&P fits in many belt holsters for that gun (I'm using an Uncle Mike's now), but I have no idea if the thumb release on G20/21 holsters will also fit the M&P.

Will the thumb release for the G20/21 properly fit around the M&P 40??

Thanks.

I really like the shoulder holster made by Falco, HERE, and I really like its price. The straps are wider at the top of the shoulder, so it seems it would be a little more comfortable. It is made for the Sig 220/226 and the G20/21. Should I consider that one????

Desantis makes shoulder holsters that fit both the full size and compact versions of the M&P. The C.E.O. (leather - mentions both full size and compact versions) and the Patriot (nylon - doesn't mention compact specific). Not sure about the others that they have though.

Thanks Alan. The New York Undercover Rig looks like a great option (still pricey), and it does not show up when you search their site to list holsters for the M&P (it does fit the M&P).

I found a good, cheap shoulder holster for the G20/21 that fits the M&P very well. However, the magazines fit loosely in the magazine holder. They would probably be secure enough, but I don't want to take the chances of dropping one. I was thinking of having a shop add a button to the retaining strap (probably not enough space), OR I'd sew an overlapping section of it (folded in half) with some heavy-duty thread to take up some space. Would you do that, in order to save $100??
