Hey.. My buddy found a 7.62x51 round at the range that has a blue plastic case and a brass bottom with a green primer.. Besides the size on the bottom, it had DAG stamped on it.. It was a spent round.. He was wonder who made it.. From what I got so far on the net is that DAG stands for Dynamit Nobel AG, Troisdorf, Germany.. Nothing else I could find out about it.. Is it German Military surplus or some kind of experimental round.. Any info would be great..

Thanks,

Ben

It may be that. I've shot some of their .223 and I was not impressed. At all. I had a couple of blown "cases", a couple that looked melted, and the velocity was all over the place. Maybe they've improved since then, but I'll wait for someone else to prove that to me. Plus, it wasn't cheaper then brass cased ammo.

Then again, maybe there are multiple companies making the stuff now and this may be a better product. With .308 I rather load my own anyway.

What I can say nice about he spectrum stuff. It's CLEAN burning. Disected a case after the fact and it was enarly spotless.

That's about it. Not reloadable, not accurate, not particularly cheap, velocity was not high nore consistant.
