Saw a cite to this site on Glock Talk (where I have the same handle). On my birthday I was at the Sharonville Show (Cincinnati) and Chris R from One Shot told me he would knock 50 bucks off the brand new M&P he had got in in 40. (January 29th 06). I bought it and liked it though I am not a big fan of 40's. Later, on Memorial Day, Targetworld in Cincinnati had a special on S&W and had a 9mm in stock (with the M Disconnect) and by then it was down to 475 (40 less than the first one I bought) and I got it. I liked that even better. A couple weeks later I got a second, this one without the disconnect from my good friend Dan Lovett at Shooters Supply Shop in Loveland Ohio.

Before I went into public service, I represented gun dealers and I have a decent collection and this is one of the better handguns around. This weekend I will be at TDI in Adams County and plan on putting 600-800 rounds through the two 9MM

Congrats on your pistols. Now you are one dedicated fan, to have 3 M&P's. I now they will perform flawless. So enjoy your pistols. You should look into getting one of the 9mm sandblasted to stainless, that would be a great collection.

When I like a gun I usually buy a pair since I tend to put alot of rounds through them. I used to be a very serious IPSC and Pin shooter so it was habit to have a back up. My wife shoots alot too so she has one to try. The only handguns I really collect are the variations of the 92-have billeniums, Desert Storm, Navy, M9, stainless, brigadier, Elite II etc.

I bought these as pure shooters. I note at Targetworld they had an issue with the magazine release failing on the range gun and one they sold had a defective barrel that would not chamber factory ammo. I haven't had a problem with any of mine-the 40 replaced a Beretta Border Marshall (96 brigadier with night sights) as the car gun I keep in a small lockbox in my trunk.
