ok i know that auto ordnance sucks as a 1911 compnay. however im reading that kahr bought them out and that their thompson 1911tc is a very good pistol at a very competitive price. anyone ever shot one. no one around here seems to have one. i really want a 1911 but do not want to spend $1000. also i kinda want an american made pistol, are thompsons made in the us. any input would be nice.

How much do you want to spend? What features are most important to you?
im in the 700 range, i really like the kimber custom, s&w and the para ordnance, i was really just curious about the auto ordnance. havent really heard them mentioned when people discuss 1911s
