Ugh I feel like I am at work (Information Technology)

I was looking into doing a bulk purchase of ammo for target shooting but I am not sure of a particular acronym...

BLAZER 40 S&W 165GR TMJ 50/RDS I am assuming TMJ is Total Metal jacket???

Can anyone confirm this for me???

Also is this blazer Total Metal Jacket ammo lead free?

it would also be nice if someone would decipher all the different acronyms...

FMJ = Full Metal Jacket

HP = Hollow Point

JHP = Jacketed Hollow Point

I am by no means an expert (actually n00b) so If someone can fill the rest out?

TMJ=Total Metal Jacket: The lead core is completely surrounded by a copper jacket; that way you don't get exposed to any lead.

FMJ is the same as TMJ, but sometimes the base of the bullet is not covered by the jacket.

HP-This is when they make a hole in the tip of the bullet. This bullet is designed to mushroom on impact which helps to transfer all the energy of the bullet into the target.

JHP-Same thing as HP, but has a copper jacket.

Many bullets are designated HP, but they are also jacketed. Yes, all the bullet jargon can get confusing. Let us know if you have any more questions.
